An Update On The Cross Story

Newsweek ran a story Sunday night slamming me for placing crosses with Christmas lights in my front yard. Here’s my original explanation from yesterday:

Holy Week is upon us and I can use a weekend incident where I became the story to deal with this.

Two boys here in Middle Georgia are selling crosses as part of a “faith over fear” campaign. They are selling the crosses for $20.00 and using the proceeds to buy snacks for hospital break rooms. People can’t go to church right now, so we’re putting up the crosses and many people are putting lights on them or shining spotlights on them.

I pulled out the Christmas lights, wrapped the cross up like several of my neighbors had done, and put a picture on Instagram.
