Democrats Need to Declare the Iowa Caucuses Non-Viable and Abort Them

The party that wants to take over your healthcare and economy could not even kick off their presidential election season with competence. Perhaps whoever planned their impeachment charade planned the caucuses. What a waste of time.

The app they were supposed to use spectacularly crashed. The delays let candidates jockey for position and try to shut out Bernie Sanders, who was winning big. This was not without warning. There were lots of warning signs that the app being used to record votes had all sorts of problems. On top of that, they changed what data was being collected. That revealed that many of the people collecting the data had no actual idea what they were doing.

Iowa has long had first in the nation status for no reason at all other than force of will and a belief the Iowan political structure was competent enough to pull off a caucus. The GOP did great last night. The Democrats did not. I have no doubt we will be reliving this all over again in four years, but we should not.

It is long past time for the caucus to come to an end and the Democrats gave everyone an excuse to do so last night.

One of the perfect bits of irony is that the Democrats decided last night, by precinct, who was a viable candidate and a non-viable candidate worth having their electoral chances aborted. It’s time to send in Planned Parenthood to declare the Iowa Caucus is no longer viable.
