Conservatives Can Successfully Podcast: Just Look at Sen. Ted Cruz

Whoever said conservatives cannot master podcasting was very wrong.

In wake of the Senate impeachment trial, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) announced the launch of his new podcast with Daily Wire’s Michael Knowles. Not surprisingly, it’s already shattered records.

The podcast is called “Verdict with Ted Cruz.” Senator Cruz will break down “the most important news stories of the day” ranging “from the President’s impeachment trial to the political debates that will define our country for decades to come.”

As of this writing, it is the #1 podcast in America right now—surpassing “The Joe Rogan Experience” and New York Times’ “The Daily.”

POLITICO reported the podcast had 250,000 downloads at one point. Now, the podcast reportedly topped 500,000 downloads. Wow.

This is confirmed by Chartable:

Why are more conservatives like Cruz podcasting? Easy. To reach younger audiences, who are more inclined to listen to this medium over talk radio. McClatchy notes:

That’s why conservatives are now slowly building support among the younger demographic with podcasts, and the more relaxed format is seen as an important way for building that audience.

You can listen to Senator Cruz’s podcast here. I’ll be bookmarking it myself.
