At What Point Do We Admit Nancy Pelosi Isn’t Fit?

I know most people have settled on the notion that former Vice President Joe Biden is the most confused, muddled, and unintelligible individuals among active Democrats today. And Biden has done much to secure that title, from the Corn Pop gangster bit to young kids shaving and rubbing his legs.

But call me crazy, I’m not ready to hand out the trophy to Uncle Joe quite yet. He has a formidable opponent in the land of nonsense that, for whatever reason, doesn’t get the same treatment Biden does when it comes to being verbally challenged and perhaps mentally unstable.

Nancy Pelosi may be one of the most intellectually ill-equipped Speakers the U.S. Congress has ever known. Her most recent “what in the world did that woman just say” moment happened at an impeachment press conference towards the end of last week. If you contend that you know what she’s talking about here, you’re lying:

And before you do something silly and suggest that this was just a bad moment or the consequence of being up in front of cameras regularly, let’s keep in mind this is absolutely a pattern of behavior for Pelosi:

I should reiterate that I don’t find this kind of thing particularly humorous. Dan Quayle/George Bush-style gaffes are one thing. A pattern of conduct that reveals the inability to string together logical sentences, an obvious impediment to formulating coherent thoughts and articulating them, memory gaps and outright confusion are something completely different.

What is bizarre is that while many people are willing to broach the subject of suitability for office when it comes to the aging Joe Biden, we don’t hear the same conversation engaged with regularity when it comes to a woman who is two years older than Biden and is tasked with far greater responsibilities and trusted with far more power than an ex-Vice President.

It’s not that Pelosi is two heartbeats away from the presidency that should alarm us. It’s that she currently sits in the highest, most significant legislative position created in our federal system. Laws are not made in the United States without the tacit permission of this woman whose rambling speech and disjointed mannerisms certainly indicate someone with a slowing or failing mind.

Maybe it’s time to forget the politics and start talking about that?
