Pelosi Directs Judiciary Committee to Draft Articles of Impeachment

Now the show continues, as it's likely the timeline will include a vote before Christmas. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has cleared the Senate's schedule in January 2020. It looks like we're going to have a trial.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi, her voice noticeably gravelly, waxed patriotic, quoting the Declaration of Independence, James Madison, and other founders of our nation, before issuing a very short directive to the Judiciary Committee chairman (Rep. Jerry Nadler) to proceed in drafting articles of impeachment against President Trump.

In a very short 9am press conference, Pelosi gave the formal go-ahead not just for an inquiry, but for proceeding with actual articles of impeachment. She echoed Rep. Nadler’s own remarks less than a day ago.

Now the show continues, as it’s likely the timeline will include a vote before Christmas. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has cleared the Senate’s schedule in January 2020. It looks like we’re going to have a trial.
