On Monday, a digital marketer from San Francisco filed his papers to run for Governor of California in 2022. It’s not to challenge incumbent Governor Gavin Newsom, but to challenge “false ads” on Facebook.

The guy in question, Adriel Hampton, also happens to be a leftist political activist. More from CNN Business:

Hampton told CNN Business that he will use his new status as a candidate to run false ads on Facebook (FB) about President Trump, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and other Facebook executives. He said he also plans to run false ads on Facebook about executives of Twitter (TWTR), which also has a policy of not fact-checking ads run by candidates. His goal is to force Facebook to stop allowing politicians to run false ads.

Hampton’s Twitter bio reads “Leftist/Chickasaw/Marketer” and he believes President Trump is an “Orange Authoritarian.” He thinks he can take on Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook ads. Good luck with that, bud.

Hampton also tweeted his support for socialist Bernie Sanders for 2020. That’s all you need to know about him.

Keep calm and crazy on, California.
