Josh Nass PR: Enacting Transformative Change

I have written extensively about the intellectual dishonesty that exists among some members of the media, especially as it pertains to coverage of Republicans. But as a conservative activist who would like to see Republicans victorious in political elections going forward, I also believe ignoring the media would prove to be a suicidal mission for our movement’s electoral prospects. Ultimately, press barons and senior management at media companies may dictate the news of the day, but there’s also opportunity to shape the narratives that they present to their viewers, readers and listeners. 

Josh Nass is a PR executive who has demonstrated repeatedly his ability to not only define perceptions and raise his client’s profiles, but also advance pro-American and Israel’s interests in the process. Josh and his firm Josh Nass PR, have been able to effectively enact positive and even transformative change in public policy contexts, by wielding public affairs campaigns; as well as manipulating public opinion for the better on a global scale. There are two specific examples that I’ve been privy to; as someone who has followed the firm’s work over the years. 

Nass PR works extensively with various NGOs and nonprofit organizations working to combat all forms of bigotry and xenophobia. In July of 2018, Josh Nass PR was involved in helping cancel the Polish law that sought to whitewash the history of the Holocaust. 

On behalf of the Israeli Association of Lawyers and Jurists, the firm embarked on a media campaign to raise awareness and maximize exposure of the submission of the organization’s amicus brief to the highest constitutional court in Poland. The media campaign was designed to apply pressure on the Polish government on behalf of the organization in order to ascertain the most ideal outcome possible. The media strategy included securing coverage of the effort in dozens of outlets including the New York Times, the New York Daily News, Newsmax TV, the Daily Caller and the Times of Israel. With the maximum media coverage generated by Mr. Nass and his team, the day after the brief’s submission, the Polish Prime Minister buckled under the pressure and cancelled the law. 

This was a feat of extraordinary proportions, not only for the Jewish community but for decent people worldwide. Moreover, it is an excellent case study of the way an aggressive but tactful PR campaign can literally change governmental policy. 

Josh’s firm has also repeatedly been effective at promoting noble endeavors under the auspices of the annual Day of Jewish Unity. The Day of Jewish Unity, now in its fifth year, has focused on such noble pursuits such as combatting the polarization infecting our political discourse, promoting unification and prayer in the face of global terror, and challenging the unfortunate scourge of anti-Semitism surging worldwide. Year after year, Nass PR has consistently delivered media campaigns that generated earned media in outlets worldwide. In past years, those have included Fox News, The Huffington Post, The Hill, The New York Daily News and many more. Most unusually, and in no small part a testament to Nass’versatility, Josh Nass PR has been able to secure not only prominent media placements, but also top-notch influencers annually for this initiative. Those influencers, procured year after year by Josh Nass, have been a diverse pool of high-profile commentators from both sides of the political spectrum. Over the years, those influencers have included Anthony Scaramucci, Governor Mike Huckabee, Trump 2020 advisory board members Jessie Jane Duff and Harlan Hill, Fox News commentator Noelle Nikpour, Democrat strategist and pundit Danielle Mclaughlin, and many more. 

The diverse political views of the influencers coupled with their varied backgrounds have contributed to establishing a feeling of unity and a unique political dichotomy year after year. But these campaigns weren’t only unique in raising awareness of the initiative itself. They were special in the way that year after year they’ve demonstrated the constructive force that a firm like Josh Nass PR can serve, in promoting positive interests, noble causes, and enacting positive change. For example, in 2019 the campaign was dedicated to maximizing awareness of hate crimes against the Jewish community and the need to combat this scourge of anti-Semitism worldwide. 

As Nass’ PR prowess and effectiveness have been shown through successful global media campaigns, he has been called upon to address ways the media can be used to advance pro-Israel interests and promote Jewish life. As one example, in 2018, Nass was called upon to address participants of the Birthright Israel Excel program. During the forum, Nass discussed media tools that are available to young people that would allow them the opportunity to combat BDS and other manifestations of anti-Israel sentiment on campus and beyond.

Those in the conservative tent like myself who have a justified inclination to not trust the media must also understand that it can be influenced for positive and constructive uses just as easily. The story of PR guru Josh Nass is one that illustrates that point perfectly.
