The March for Life has just announced their 2020 theme.

In an email sent out to supporters, media, and other subscribers, a staffer introduced the theme as: “Life Empowers: Pro-Life is Pro-Woman.”

Why the selection of this theme? Next year, 2020, coincides with the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment’s passage—which gave women the right to vote.

Here’s more from the announcement email on the selection of the theme:

2020 marks the centennial of the 19th Amendment, giving women the right to vote. As we celebrate this great moment in history, we remember and honor the suffragists, the original feminist leaders who recognized the inherent dignity of the unborn and that abortion not only ended a life but harmed women. The pro-life movement continues their legacy, recognizing that equal rights begin in the womb.

The goal of next year’s event is to honor the lasting contributions of trailblazing pro-life women like Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Alice Paul, Dr. Elizabeth Blackwell, Dr. Charlotte Denman Lozier, and Victoria Woodhull.

Love it. Very apropos for the occasion!

The march will take place on January 24, 2020. Learn more about festivities on their website.
