Let the President Scratch This Itch

It only reinforces the feedback loop among the President’s supporters that the media and left collaborated on the Russia stuff. There’s a real sense that the Democrats via Fusion GPS created the Steele dossier and had foreign help to try to slander the President.

President Trump fundamentally believes this happened and he fundamentally believes that Robert Mueller either did not or could not dig into it. He wants answers. He hears this stuff on Fox regularly. He has commissioned Attorney General William Barr to look into it.

Let him.

Let the President scratch this itch. The Democrats and the media’s howls and screams over this only reinforce that they have something to hide. Let them look into this. To do otherwise is just to amply the conspiracy that they are now trying to cover something us.

No harm will come from this investigation if there is nothing there. Contrary to media perceptions, William Barr is both reasonable and responsible. It is far better to let him pursue this than Rudy Giuliani.

Screaming about it only makes it seem like Democrats and their friends in the media have something to hide. The President’s supporters feed off those screams and cries as further proof. Let them scratch this itch.
