On the day when Chinese security shot an 18-year-old man in Hong Kong, with live ammunition, who was protesting for democracy, President Trump was greasing up his flattering pole for President Xi Jinping. Trump tweeted a congratulations on 70 years of crushing China’s citizens under the boot of Communism.
This is grotesque.
Does anyone need to remind Mr. Trump that the Communists in China assumed power by a bloody coup and Mao’s war with Chiang Kai-shek and the Chinese nationalists who were our WWII allies? How about the Long March as Mao consolidated power and fled the Kuomintang Army, with enormous casualties? Should Trump congratulate that?
Does anyone need to remind Mr. Trump of re-education camps, the enslavement of Tibet, or Xi’s promulgation of the Communists’ continuing war on Christians?
But Congratulations, says Trump.
I think some of Xi is rubbing off on Mr. Trump. This is now twice where the sitting POTUS has suggested a sitting Congressman be charged with a crime, first Treason, then fraud. Apparently the First Amendment needs some trimming.
Does anyone need to remind Mr. Trump that if he spoke the comment he tweeted from the floor of the House of Representatives, he’d be censured for it? (Just like Speaker Pelosi was reminded.)
President Trump’s logorrhea on Twitter is terrible to read and does not befit the respect the office demands.
Please, Mr. President, for the love of America, stop tweeting. Your tweets suck.
