Senator Manchin to Beto O’Rourke: [He’s] Not Taking My Guns Away From Me

Lindsay Wise, who covers the Congressional beat for Wall Street Journal, asked Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) to respond to Robert “Beto” Francis O’Rourke’s pledge to confiscate AR-15’s.

He said, “Beto’s one human being. He gave his own opinion, OK? I think it was very harmful to make it look like all the Democrats. I can tell you one thing: @BetoORourke‘s not taking my guns away from me. You tell Beto that OK?”

Ouch.

Former Congressman O’Rourke declared, “Hell yes, we’re going to take away your AR-15” at last week’s Democrat presidential debate in Houston, TX.

Manchin narrowly won re-election in 2018 and was one of the handful of Democrats to vote to confirm Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

Now if he and Senator Pat Toomey could wise up on their Toomey-Manchin bill, that would be great.
