That’s a Heck of a New York Times Editor’s Note They Added

Uhhhh…

The piece also failed to note that the person who reported the incident had been one of Bill Clinton’s chief defenders in the Monica Lewinsky situation. Instead, they portrayed him as a most apolitical nonprofit leader.

This is all genuinely bizarre behavior from a media institution unless one presumes the goal is not to report, but to serve as an activist organ. For sake of its credibility, it would have probably failed to update had Mollie Hemingway not pointed out the glaring problem, thereby leading to a major wave of criticism of the Times.

This is really unbelievable, except it is all too believable.
