Donald Trump’s Green New Deal: Buy Greenland

It sounds crazy. It probably is crazy. It is also funny and funny to see so many people melting down in spittle flying rage over the idea.

But it is not actually a bad idea.

President Trump has mentioned several times to aides that we should try to buy Greenland from Denmark. The idea first came up after World War II when Harry Truman’s cabinet officers discussed the idea and proposed it to Denmark.

Greenland is of significant and strategic importance both in dealing with a Russian resurgence and also China. We already have a military installation there.

Greenland’s population is only 56,000 people, but it has a vast array of natural resources. It is in a key strategic location for the East Coast. It is also part of North America and we should control it.

No, it probably isn’t going to happy. No, the President probably isn’t really serious about it. But it would be awesome.
