Trump Withdraws Ratcliffe Nomination

President Trump is withdrawing his nomination of Rep. John Ratcliffe as the new Director of National Intelligence. As Resurgent reported earlier this week, Ratcliffe’s nomination was drawing widespread criticism from Democrats and little support from Republicans.

On Twitter, the president said that Ratcliffe was being treated “very unfairly” and that it would be ” miserable it would be for him and his family” to continue through the confirmation process. The president added, ” John has therefore decided to stay in Congress where he has done such an outstanding job representing the people of Texas, and our Country.”

No replacement for Ratcliffe has been named by the president.
