VA Lawmaker Who Posted Anti-Semitic Tropes Brags About Disrupting Trump’s Jamestown Address

Virginia Delegate Ibraham Samirah, who represents Virginia’s 86th House of Delegates District, bragged about interrupting President Trump’s speech at Jamestown on social media.

He tweeted, “I just disrupted the @realDonaldTrump speech in Jamestown because nobody’s racism and bigotry should be excused for the sake of being polite. The man is unfit for office and unfit to partake in a celebration of democracy, representation, and our nation’s history of immigrants.”

He released an accompanying statement too:

Delegate Samirah, a self-described “second-generation Palestinian refugee,” has a history of purporting bigotry himself—especially in the form of anti-Semitism.

While running in a special election earlier this year, Samirah’s anti-Semitic, anti-Israel posts from 2014 came back to haunt him—especially when he said giving money to Israel was “worse than the KKK.” From Haaretz:

Samirah, a Chicago native who is Muslim, said that sending money to Israel is “worse” than sending money to the Ku Klux Klan and that the late Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon would burn in hell upon his death. He also accused Israeli teenagers of using Tinder to “cover up the murders in their names.”

How ironic.

As Beverly Hallberg noted on Twitter, leave the protesting to campaign and political rallies.
