Democrats Are Going to Actually Have to Compete Against Trump Now

House Democrats killed an impeachment attempt.

Bob Mueller reported there was no coordination with the Russians.

Mueller went on to decline to prosecute the President.

That left one more silver bullet for the Democrats. The Southern District of New York, undoubtedly through that office leaking, had assured reporters that something big was coming. BuzzFeed, you will recall, still stands by its mischaracterization of Cohen’s testimony to Congress. Undoubtedly, they had some sources that were probably at SDNY.

Well, that is fizzling too.

The federal government is ending its investigation into hush payments, etc. There’ll be no perp walks for anyone. There’ll be no indictments.

The end.

Democrats have kept hanging their hats on various silver bullets to take out Donald Trump. Even AOC has said if he didn’t get impeached he’d probably get re-elected.

Now it looks the Democrats will have to find out. They’ll be forced to compete with the President on a campaign field where the Democrats are increasingly moving hard left, which won’t help them.
