Chris Pratt Attacked For Wearing Gadsden Flag

The “Don’t Tread on Me” Gadsden flag has been around since the revolutionary war and was a symbol of the American Revolution. It has stayed around for two hundred years as a flag flown by those who support our soldiers, liberty, etc. Actor Chris Pratt is being attacked for wearing a t-shirt with the Gadsden flag’s snake and “Don’t Tread on Me” imposed on an American flag. It is supposedly a symbol of white supremacy.

I’m noticing more and more that progressives are claiming anything Neo-Nazis have tried to co-opt is somehow immediately bad. The Betsy Ross flag, the Gadsden flag, the American flag itself, etc. are all immediately deemed bad.

What I find so interesting is that they make no effort to defend the historic symbols or repurpose them or take them for their own. They just want to discard them all. It seems vastly more about a convenient way to cast aside American symbols than actually about bad people trying to steal the symbols of liberty for themselves.

These same people have been nursing long held grievances against Chris Pratt for being an open and practicing Christian. Now they get to attack him on both fronts. It’s not that they really believe it. It’s just that they need to make an example of someone and the actor who talks about Jesus and loves America is the perfect target for them.
