The Time to Examine Joe Biden’s Record on Race Was 2008, Not 2019

This story is not going to hurt Biden, but it does show two things.First, it shows the media is willfully lazy and unwilling to level criticism of Democrats when it is a D v. R race.Second, it shows Democrats are willing to weaponize race against their own party now.Neither speaks well of the press or the Democrats, but this is certainly just another reason Donald Trump will probably win in 2020 as Democrats tear themselves apart.

Joe Biden served for eight years as Vice President to the first black President of the United States.

The media was curiously uninterested in examining Joe Biden’s record on race at the time. Democrats never raised it while he was a candidate for office. It is only relevant now because Biden is the front runner and the media is pouncing because more progressive Democrats need to take him out.

Joe Biden is to the left of me on every issue. He is not someone I could ever vote for given his position on abortion. But he is not a racist or a segregationist. That Democrats are willfully mischaracterizing his statements is shameful. They are behaving as they claim President Trump behaves.

Joe Biden is many things, but he is also a good man. He worked in the Senate across party lines on many occasions and built coalitions with the pro-segregationist Democrats in his own party to get things done.

Black voters in the Democratic Party like Joe Biden and the data shows that Biden is their preferred nominee.
