Congressman Chip Roy is forcing the House of Representatives to vote on every floor amendment to the House’s spending bill. There are 106 amendments and Roy, even late into the night last night, was giving up his wedding anniversary to be on the floor forcing votes on each amendment.
The Huffington Post’s congressional reporter, Matt Fuller, really does not like that Chip Roy is “willing to inconvenience people.”
How dare a member of Congress insist that Congress actually votes on spending. It’s just so archaic.
For all the chatter about Donald Trump being a dictator, an autocrat, or having Republicans enable him, this is a reminder that progressives are actually okay with all of that so long as it is a Democrat, not a Republican, behaving in that fashion.
The congressman should be commended for giving up his wedding anniversary to work and vote.
