Politico Wrongly Tried to Claim a Pastor Apologized for Praying for President Trump

You can read the article from Politico here. At the bottom, you’ll find this curious note:

This article and its headline have been updated to better reflect the pastor’s message to his congregation.

What is striking is that the original Politico headline claimed Pastor David Platt had apologized to his congregation for having President Trump on stage with him for a prayer. ¬†You can read Platt’s statement for yourself here.

I won’t blame Krystal Campos, the reporter, because I don’t know if she gets to assign her own titles. But it is pretty shocking that anyone could read David Platt’s letter to his congregation and take it as an apology. All he did was explain to the congregation how it came to be that the President showed up unexpectedly.

It is, however, pretty telling that the Politico took that as an apology and rushed out a story with that claim when it was not true.
