Kill the Human Babies; Save the Baby Eels

This is by far the dumbest thing you will read today. Two leftwing academics ranked cookbooks by how many animals are killed. Paula Dean turns out to be a hero because recipes would cause the deaths of fewer animals than Nigella Lawson, Gordon Ramsey, or Mario Batali.

But, as progressives are outraged at conservatives for wanting to prohibit abortions after twenty weeks because infants in the womb begin to experience pain at that time, we find this:

By far the deadliest cookbook was Batali’s Molto Gusto, with 620 deaths (5.25 per recipe) driven by its use of 567 baby eels. Eels might not be high on your list of animals whose welfare we should care about, but like most species of fish, they probably experience pain and deserve animal welfare consideration.

It is a sad statement of progressive logic that baby eels “deserve animal welfare consideration” but baby humans do not. And yes, that writer is pro-abortion.
