Two Competing Premises: The Abortion Debate

It’s alive or it’s not.

The abortion debate is inflammatory because one side holds a view that permits it to say and do terrible things.

These things are beyond the pale if we take the view that the unborn are alive and worthy of protection.

When you stray from that view and classify the unborn as “clumps of cells,” you are left with a horrible worldview.

This premise, that the unborn aren’t human, leads to bad conclusions.

Dailywire’s Ryan Saavedra tweeted this:

These abortion supporters are so blinded by hate that they cannot grasp for a second that there exists a large group of people who believe that fetuses are living human beings.

If you want to debate viability, case law, the meaning of “undue burden,” be my guest, but don’t be this vile.

Because if the abortion supporters are wrong, and they are in fact dancing on the “graves” of the unborn, that is one of the most disgusting acts of political speech.
