Alabama Republicans Should Say No Moore

Want to freak out the Republican establishment (more than they’re already freaked out after 2 years of the Trump administration)? Just show them the latest polls on the Alabama Senate race. According to the Mason-Dixon survey of potential Republican primary voters, Roy Moore leads the field with 27% of voters. Yeah, that would be the same Roy Moore that lost what should have been the easiest special election of 2017. Alabama may be the reddest state in America, but they have a Democratic Senator representing them in Washington, DC now because Alabama Republicans were foolish enough to nominate Roy Moore.

Yeah, I know. The liberal press was out to get him and you didn’t know about all the creepy allegations about his affinity for teenage girls before the primary last time. And really, in a choice between the establishment pick Luther Strange and the guy who defends the Ten Commandments, I can see where Moore won that fight. But that was then and this is now. Now you KNOW all the dirt Moore was hiding for years. And now you have a choice of several other candidates.

So, I have a deep and sincere question for Alabama Republicans: WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU PEOPLE THINKING OVER THERE??????? Are you just tired of winning now?

The other potential candidates in the poll were Representative Mo Brooks at 18%, and Representative Bradley Byrne at 13%. Don’t like them? Go with former Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville! Heck, you could nominate a dead cat for this Senate seat and probably win. So why in the world would you nominate the one Republican in the field that you know for a fact could lose to Doug Jones?

Albert Einstein is credited with saying “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” So, don’t be crazy. Pick a different guy. Any other guy. But it’s time for Alabama Republicans to say No Moore.

Unless they want to lose. Again.
