Democrats in Georgia Now Realizing Stacey Abrams’ Dithering is Hurting Their Senate Chances

This is really starting to get embarrassing. The Mayor of Columbus, GA is announcing her run for the Senate against incumbent Republican David Perdue, but there is a huge, huge caveat.

She won’t run if Stacey Abrams runs. The problem is Abrams won’t make up her mind. Democrats are getting impatient because they need to raise money, lay the groundwork, and settle on a preferred candidate.

The whole interview here is just astonishing and embarrassing including the acknowledgement that Abrams’ dithering is causing the Democrats’ problems and Mayor Tomlinson’s acknowledgement that though she is expected to show deference to Abrams, she can expect none from Abrams.

What is left unsaid is that all the candidates know if Abrams does decide to get in, the rest of them are going to get savaged as racist bigots who are colluding with Donald Trump. So they have to show a level of deference they are increasingly, though still mostly privately, beginning to resent.
