For two years, the media has assured the American public the President is a liar who mangles even basic truths. They have not only taken to fact checking the President and routinely mocking him in the chyrons, but have publicly fretted about covering events like the State of the Union live. They have demanded White House press conferences, but refused to carry them live. Their excuse has constantly been that this White House is at war with the truth.
But we now know the real Russian collusion scandal is that the media has let Democrats from the House and Senate Intelligence and Judiciary Committees on television to use their stature to assure the American public the collusion was real.
Anchors from CNN to MSNBC to the weekend news shows have largely given Democrats a pass to make claims about the Trump campaign colluding with Russia while treating Republican pushback skeptically. The presuppositions within the media were that there was collusion. The conversations often were filled not just with speculation, but with what “sources” were saying that confirmed collusion.
It is now abundantly obvious that many of the sources used by reporters were playing the reporters to advance an untrue narrative against the President. It is also abundantly obvious that many reporters, anchors, and networks allowed Democrats to get away with lies in ways they would never allow the President.
It is now abundantly obvious that the media helped Democrats perpetuate a false narrative and lies to advance a partisan agenda.
There must be an accounting. There has to be an accounting.
