The Mueller investigation has concluded and with it comes word that there will be no more indictments. That is somewhat unfortunate.
People forget that really no one took Donald Trump serious in 2015. As a result, the A team and the B team of Republican politics went to work for other candidates. The only people willing to work with Trump were the C and D team grifters who were just looking to cash in on Trump. Even they did not really take Trump seriously. They just thought they could make a buck off a billionaire and they flattered him accordingly. They whispered platitudes in his ears and convinced him they were his friends.
Over time, the grifters got purged from the campaign, but not before Wikileaks, etc. It is important to note that none of these people went to jail for colluding with the Russians to help President Trump get elected. They went to jail because they are habitual liars who never met a truth they did not want to molest.
They did themselves and President Trump untold damage by refusing to be candid and honest. They dragged the campaign down and the President down with them. They are being carted off the jail now for either lying to the Mueller team or for other things the Mueller team discovered.
In 2020, the President will not be running a campaign with the dregs of rightwing society who hide in the corners of CNP and CPAC claiming to know and work with the powerful because they stood next to the powerful in a bathroom once.
That is a good thing. The bad thing is that more of them won’t be rounded up and carted off.
