Georgia Scandal Jeopardizes Perdue and Trump Victories in 2020

As Georgia drifts into purple state status, Republicans in the state are putting both David Perdue and Donald Trump’s 2020 victories in jeopardy.

It is widely acknowledged by party leaders that they have a huge problem with women in the Atlanta suburbs. Notwithstanding that, Republican officials have decided to stand behind Georgia House Speaker David Ralston.

In a detailed report, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution has outlined how Ralston uses his position as Speaker of the Georgia House to repeatedly delay court cases for criminal clients. It seems to be a business model. In fact, one of his criminal clients admits he paid Ralston $20,000.00 to drag things out.

Democrats, including Stacey Abrams, are publicly urging Republicans to stand by David Ralston, which the GOP is doing. But Democrats are also gearing up an ad blitz for 2020 with the victims whose cases have not going to trial because of Ralston.

The Democrats will use this issue to show Republicans are harboring a corrupt politician while rape victims are denied justice. The ads will be powerful and people will react as you would expect.

There is a resolution in the Georgia House of Representatives to remove David Ralston. But most of the ranking Republicans have thus far refused to support it. If Ralston stays, the Democrats will weaponize this and it will hurt the GOP in 2020.
