I’m Glad I Was Wrong

I have to admit I really did think the media would absolutely abandon any and all coverage of Jussie Smollett the moment it was revealed he is the chief suspect in his own hate crime.

Instead, the press has mostly and mostly commendably continued to cover this story. I’m glad to be wrong on this. It is a fascinating story and Smollett clearly needs a lot of help and prayer.

In fact, I’ll go a step further and say I suspected the press would use the Coast Guard terrorist story as the jumping off point and pivot. At this point, I actually think we need more on that story than on Smollett. That is a deeply troubling story that has not gotten as much attention, though I presume that is because of a lack of details that will be coming.
