Do Any Republicans Care About the Debt and Deficit?

China will use our financial woes against us in the way we used the Soviets against them. Our financial situation is a national security issue.

The President had a list of things he wanted money for in the State of the Union. But he never mentioned the debt, deficit, or out of control spending.

Many of the Republicans who cheered on the President’s State of the Union address got their start in the tea party movement of 2010. One of the galvanizing issues for that movement was out of control spending in Washington.

President Obama exploded the national debt, adding more to it than his predecessors. He could blame a terrible economy. President Trump has a great economy, but he and the Republicans are still piling on debt and running deficits.

If we do not get our fiscal house in order, we as a nation will head to the poor house. China will use our financial woes against us in the way we used the Soviets against them. Our financial situation is a national security issue.

Few Republicans seem interested in talking about it and addressing it. This is a real problem and one that will impact us sooner rather than later.
