Democrats Begin Their Attacks on Joe Biden. Yes. Joe Biden.

Stories like this one in the New York Times do not just happen.. They happen for reasons.

Biden “was collecting $200,000 from the Economic Club of Southwestern Michigan to address a Republican-leaning audience, according to a speaking contract obtained by The New York Times and interviews with organizers.”

How exactly did the New York Times obtain this contract? Probably from a Democratic operative. The entire premise of the story is that Biden helped a Republican get re-elected in November by saying nice things about that congressman at an event sponsored, in part, by that congressman’s family foundation. Democrats, you see, do not want a Democrat helping Republicans in any way, shape, or form.

There is a body of conventional wisdom out there noting that Biden would have the best shot at stealing Trump’s base from him. But Democrats have largely decided Trump’s base is full of racists and bigots and no one should want them and no one even try to get them. That Biden can potentially bring these undesirable people into the Democratic fold means Biden is undesirable and must be stopped.

That’s how these stories get circulated. Democrats want to throw the former Vice President under the non-Obama bus because they’re afraid he has a real shot at winning and winning by breaking apart Trump’s coalition.
