You have to feel for Ilhan Omar. It must be hard standing in the shadow of Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, that giant of leftist intellectual heft who has assumed the role of Regina in Capitol Hill’s new Mean Girls clique. Why just the other day, AOC (she even has a cool nickname!) grabbed headlines everywhere by declaring we’re all toast in twelve years if we don’t, like, totes do something about climate change right now. How’s a freshman congressperson from Minnesota supposed to compete with that?
By tweeting something (since deleted) even more dishonest and stupid, of course.
The funny part is how Omar had to glom on to one of Donald Trump’s tweets just so she could get everyone’s attention. You think AOC has to ride some man’s Twitter feed to generate buzz? Girlfriend, please.
Still, since Omar has availed us with her media savvy, we might as well take the opportunity to illustrate just how big of a publicity-seeking fraud she really is. Here goes.
The boys were protesting a woman’s right to choose. Choose what, exactly, Congresswoman Omar? What kind of coffee to drink? Whether Gillette Venus really is a better razor than Lady Schick? Who’s hotter, Neil Gorsuch or Brett Kavanaugh? If abortion is such a great thing, why do you have to resort to a euphemism like “choice”? Of course, you might want to have a chat with your imam first, because the Covington kids’ views on abortion probably have a lot more in common with the Muslim faith than yours do.
They yelled, “It’s not rape if you enjoy it.” This is completely misleading. There was indeed someone standing near the boys who said that, but he wasn’t from Covington—and the context of that remark remains unclear. Was it an ugly taunt? Or was it an rhetorical device used to illustrate the extremism of abortion advocates? We don’t know—but that doesn’t stop Omar from peddling an assumption.
They were taunting five black men. This is a complete lie. The black men, who also happened to be a bunch of goons, were actually taunting the Covington kids—and not in the nyah-nyah sense of word.
They surrounded Phillips and led racist chants. They did not surrounding Phillips. In fact, Phillips approached them. The unedited video shows this clearly. And as the Native American activist—not to mention stolen valor fraudster—banged on his drum, the Covington kids didn’t know what to make of him. Was he on their side? Was he trying to spark a confrontation? In any case, the chants were actually school cheers—and the Covington kids said they cheered because they wanted to drown out the racist, anti-gay slurs coming from the Black Hebrew Israelites. I couldn’t help but laugh at the irony of Omar’s claim here, which Dave Reaboi perfectly encapsulated with a tweet of his own.
Sandmann’s family hired a right wing PR firm. Finally, Omar said something true! Given the media circus surrounding this mess, though, why the hell is this any any way controversial? It’s called crisis management. It’s what people do when people like Ilhan Omar and the media wing of the Democrat Party are out to destroy you. I don’t recall anyone complaining when the Parkland kids accepted the services of left wing PR firms—and those kids had a sympathetic press, not a bunch of jackals looking to ruin their lives just to advance a meme.
Of course, one shouldn’t expect anything less from a Congresswoman who, evidence strongly suggests, may have married her own brother as part of an immigration fraud scheme. In that case, facts proved to be pretty inconvenient too.
On the bright side, though, there’s a growing list of defendants for the Covington kids to go after, should they decide to file a defamation lawsuit. Ilhan Omar should bear in mind that there’s plenty of room for her on that list.
