Europe Wants to Give Personhood to Robots and Collect Taxes

This really is one of the craziest stories out there right now and is another reason Britain should flee the European Union.

Under a draft proposal, robots would be treated as “electronic persons” and companies would be forced to pay social security taxes for the robots. No, I’m not kidding.

The draft motion, drawn up by the European parliament’s committee on legal affairs … said organizations should have to declare savings they made in social security contributions by using robotics instead of people, for tax purposes.

The EU bureaucracy is a nightmare and stifles business growth and competition. This is just another example of that.
