Never Forget, Never Again

It’s both unsurprising and sad that more people probably know today is Star Wars Day (May the 4th Be With You) than Yom HaShoah, Israel Holocaust Remembrance Day.

By Steve Berman

[Update: technically, Yom HaShoah is tomorrow, May 5, which is Cinco de Mayo, but it starts at sundown today, which is about now in Israel.]

The political climate in Europe, and increasingly, in America, supports the narrative that Israel is a bully, a conqueror, and an occupier. Some even go so far as to deny the Holocaust, calling it a Jewish conspiracy to gain international support for a Jewish state. Not only is that a damnable lie, but it’s an unashamed sign of Jew-hatred.

The British Labour Party has a Jew-hater in its midst: Ken Livingstone  claimed that “Hitler had once supported Zionism and that antisemitism was not ‘exactly the same’ as racism.” This man is an elected Member of Parliament.

Mr Livingstone also said there was a “very well-orchestrated campaign by the Israel lobby” to smear anyone who criticised Israeli policy, adding that someone was only antisemitic if they hated all Jewish people, “not just the ones in Israel”.

Hillary Clinton surrounds herself with rabid Jew-haters, some of them self-hating Jews (something a psychologist will have to explain to me). Sidney Blumenthal is one her closest advisors. His son Max is an unabashed friend of the butchering Palestinian terror groups. Clinton regularly read his garbage and commented positively on it while she was secretary of state.

Huma Abedin, Clinton’s friend and State Department aide, has ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, father group of Hamas, which has as the core of its charter the total destruction of Israel and extermination of the Jews. In another Jewish self-hating irony, Abedin is married to disgraced former congressman and failed NYC mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner.

Donald Trump pledged to be “a neutral guy” in the Israel/Palestinian conflict. Then just yesterday, he called for Israel to keep building settlements in the West Bank.

He asserted that Israel must continue to move forward with building projects, a position that directly contradicts that of both the Obama administration as well as the Palestinian peace-negotiating apparatus.

“Thousands of missiles [are] being launched into Israel. Who would put up with that? Who would stand for it?” Trump said. “I’d love to negotiate peace. But I mean a lasting peace, not a peace that lasts for two weeks and they start launching missiles again.”

Well, which is it, Mr. Trump? Neutral or standing with Israel? Nobody knows because pinning Trump down is like nailing Jell-O to the wall. Meanwhile, Holocaust deniers adore Trump, who has thrown out just about every conspiracy theory he can dig up in the last decade. Just yesterday, Trump cited the National Enquirer on a link between Ted Cruz’s father and John F. Kennedy’s assassin.

How long will it be before we see Trump throwing out Holocaust-denial conspiracies if he (God forbid) ever tries to negotiate a “deal” between the Palestinians and Israel.

Listen to me: The truth is that the only reason the Palestinians exist is as leverage in a long-term plan to destroy Israel. This plan dates back to the 1920’s. It’s not a secret plan. The mullahs, the Arab League and the Mufti of Jerusalem were consistent and unmovable about their opposition to a large Jewish population in the Holy Land (they still are). They paid large populations to move from surrounding areas and settle in the land to counter Jewish immigration.

They have tried to destroy Israel ever since May 15, 1948 when the Israeli flag replaced the Union Jack in Jerusalem. They wouldn’t reabsorb the settlers they paid to live in Israel after most of them left voluntarily during the bloody war. They let these people languish in disgusting filth, in refugee camps, for over 60 years, training them to hate Jews from the time they are born.

I’m not saying the Israelis are perfect, but as Dennis Prager explained, the problem is simple: “one side wants the other dead, and if it didn’t, there would be peace.”

The Holocaust happened. Six million Jews perished. I know, millions of non-Jews died in the war, and others were put into concentration camps besides Jews. But over 50 percent of the entire world’s Jews were killed, systematically, on purpose, with facilities, machinery, and whole industries applied to their genocide.

Denying the Holocaust is an insult to God and mankind. Forgetting the Holocaust is a peril with incalculable consequences. We must never forget the Holocaust, because Jew-hatred is never going to go away*, and as long as Israel exists, it exists on one singular foundation summed up in two words: “Never again.”

*Jew-hatred will one day go away, but it will happen when the lion lays down with the lamb, and when Christ returns for His bride. Dr. Michael Brown wrote:

Why does Satan so passionately despise the Jews? For one thing, it is a reflection of his hatred for God. The Jews are God’s chosen people! By hurting them he seeks to hurt the Lord and take revenge for his own sentence of death. His effort to annihilate the Jews is also an attempt to discredit the Lord, since He has sworn in His Word that they will never be destroyed. If Israel ceases to exist as a distinct people, then God did not, or could not, keep His promise. That would mean that He was either powerless or that He lied!

But there is another reason the devil despises the Jews: The salvation of Israel means the return of Jesus, the resurrection of the righteous, the revival of the Church and the restoration of the earth. The fulfillment of the Jews’ destiny will seal the devil’s doom. Yes, “the God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet” (Rom. 16:20) . . . and he is beginning to squirm! The time to favor Israel is upon us and Satan is quaking with fear. The countdown has begun.
