Ted Cruz Wins Wisconsin

The only real question outstanding is how big Ted Cruz’s victory is. The conventional wisdom had him winning by four points or so, but it looks much bigger than that.

Cruz has won men, women, college educated, those without college degrees, evangelicals, the very conservative, and the somewhat conservative. The only category he lost to Trump was the moderate Republican, but most of those went to vote for Bernie Sanders anyway. Cruz, winning the “somewhat conservative” voters appears to be broadening his appeal.

This is potential game changer in the race making it harder for Trump to get to 1,237.

It also gives two weeks for the race to reset in Cruz’s favor as Trump has to stew in a loss for two weeks following two weeks of initial bad press.

The only other issue is Kasich who now appears to be an anchor to Cruz in Pennsylvania and is getting crushed in Wisconsin in areas that should play to his strengths.

The #NeverTrump faction seems to be rallying to Cruz.

Also significant: for the first time in a long time, Cruz has a win in prime time when people are awake and can hear him address the crowd. Usually his wins come after 11pm and people have tuned out.
