Robert Jeffress is the pastor of First Baptist Church in Dallas, TX. It is a prominent church in Texas and nationally. Jeffress has used that prominence to support Donald Trump and blast Christians who are opposed to Trump.
Last year, the Center for Medical Progress exposed Planned Parenthood as harvesting the bodies of children, including at facilities in Texas. A few years before that, Live Action exposed that Planned Parenthood does not do mammograms, despite many people claiming Planned Parenthood does them.
We have also seen Planned Parenthood ignore evidence of human trafficking.
Despite all these things, because Robert Jeffress has decided he must defend Donald Trump at all costs, Jeffress is now praising Planned Parenthood, agreeing with Donald Trump that Planned Parenthood does “wonderful” things.
When I asked about Trump saying abortion giant Planned Parenthood does “wonderful things” for women apart from its abortion practices, Jeffress said: “He’s right. There are some positive things Planned Parenthood does for women. But he’s been very clear as long as they continue to do abortions he would defund them.”
Being unwilling to disagree with Trump on any issue, particularly an issue like this, puts Jeffress inside a cult, not supporting a man for President. The only one who can do no wrong is God himself, but Jeffress is absolutely unwilling to take issue with the things Trump says.
In fact, as the Heritage Foundation has well documented, many of the “wonderful things” Planned Parenthood does for women are actually the organization separating out each step along the way to an abortion. So yes, Planned Parenthood does a wonderful thing in giving women free ultrasounds — just ignore it was the state mandated ultrasound before the abortion.
Hey, after all, King Herod did wonderful things too. They called him Herod the Great. He expanded the temple in Jerusalem. Never mind that some Jews questioned his commitment to Judaism. And pay no attention to all those babies killed around the time of Jesus’s birth.
