Trump Loses, Lewandowski Better Stay Out Of Florida, And A Comforting Thought

Results from Saturday’s caucuses in Wyoming and Washington, D.C. shut Trump down to a measly one delegate, while Rubio, Cruz, and Kasich gained 11, 10, and 9 respectively. Nobody is surprised that D.C. broke for Rubio and Kasich, with nobody else receiving any delegates.

And IJ Review reported that Michelle Fields filed criminal charges against Corey Lewandowski for manhandling her at a Trump rally.

Independent Journal Review has learned from a source familiar with the events that Fields has filed a report with the police department in Jupiter, Florida, which is the jurisdiction where the alleged incident occurred.

Detective Adam Brown of the Jupiter PD confirmed she had filed, and said they would be releasing a statement shortly.

Fields says that Lewandowski grabbed her arm when she attempted to ask Trump a question at the end of his presser following Tuesday’s election results.

The charges are further supported by a C-SPAN video published by the New York Daily News that appears to show Lewandowski reaching for Fields. I can’t see it myself but maybe a jury (should it come to that) can be made to see it after someone does a frame-by-frame analysis complete with little red circles.

If I were Lewandowski, I’d stay clear of Florida since there may be an arrest warrant in the works. I’m pretty sure the Secret Service wouldn’t protect the little twerp when the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputies arrive to execute it (or any number of county deputies across the Sunshine State who’d be more than glad to cuff Corey).

So if you’re in the early stages of what Jonah Goldberg calls “Trumpodism,” you might be swayed by the movement from threats of violence to actual violence (as in when my friend and Resurgent colleague Josh Hammer was swayed to #NeverTrump by actual fascism).

One liberal who’s in the first stages of the Trumpod is Neil deGrasse Tyson, anti-God buffoon turned free-speech defender.

I guess that makes him an anti-anti-Trump First Amendment supporter, but only when it’s not about climate change or same-sex marriage, which, of course, should limit free speech.

Ah, respect. There’s a term you don’t ever see in connection with Trump.

But respectfully, Tyson is a jackass on this. Both the protesters and the Trumpkins deserve their free speech and voting rights. But threatening to press charges against protesters is not very respectful of the First Amendment. Wonder how that will play if Trump (God forbid) becomes president?

My wife informs me that too much exposure to things Trump causes my personality to darken. And that’s probably true. So I’ll close with a positive thought. We finished the Bible in our daily devotions with our kids the other night, and last night we started over (that’s what you do when you finish the Bible–you read it again).

In Genesis 1:1, God created the heavens and the earth. In verse 2, “The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.”

Even Neil deGrasse Tyson would admit that everything in the universe (time, energy, matter) came into being at one single point, the Big Bang. You see, God did create the earth before the earth formed. He did it a the moment of Creation. It just takes a while for His word to come to pass, because He created Laws to govern the physical aspects of the universe. He also, at the same instant, created Laws to govern our spiritual universe. What God spoke about us–you and me–that He loves us so deeply He’d sacrifice his own flesh and blood Son for us, also came to pass.

What God spoke about you and me, that His love never fails, will also come to pass. If we obey God’s spiritual laws, He will be faithful to us, just like He created the earth and it was void. His Spirit hovers over us–whether we know Him in the glory of His son, or not–the Hound of Heaven will pursue.

And that is a comforting thought.

My sister-in-law took this picture of sunrise over the New Hampshire coast this very morning. What a marvelous God we have, who paints the sky for us more beautifully than the finest canvas. It gives me hope to continue, even in our dark days.
