Ten Days to Declare Genocide

When Congress passed its omnibus spending bill in December, the body gave President until March 17, 2016, to declare whether or not the widespread killing of Christians by ISIS constituted genocide.

Objectively, it does. Christians are being burned and beheaded wholesale and their property and homes are being confiscated. ISIS has committed itself to the extermination of Christians in the Middle East.

Ken Blackwell has a column on this today and the Knights of Columbus is running an ad campaign on the issue.

Back in 2014, John Kerry called it genocide, but the Obama Administration still won’t officially declare it genocide. Doing so has legal ramifications and would compel more significant military action against ISIS.

It’s time for the Obama Administration to declare officially what John Kerry has done unofficially — declare the extermination of Christians in the Middle East a “genocide” and commit to stopping it.
