In light of recent remarks, such as those by Senator Bob Corker, that the GOP is not working on a replacement plan for Obamacare, Charles Krauthammer said a failure to repeal and replace the law would be “the ultimate betrayal of the electorate.”
On Fox News’ Special Report with Bret Baier, Krauthammer reminded audiences that Republicans ran on “repeal and replace” for the past seven years. Failing to do so now reinforces the image that they are not serious about keeping campaign promises.
However, Krauthammer also acknowledged something ha the GOP must be very aware of: that if they replace Obamacare, they will be politically responsible for anything bad that happens to health care thereafter, much as Democrats have been since 2010. They’re between a rock and a hard place now.
