Ted Cruz is making waves once again by bucking the establishment wing of the GOP and demanding that Republicans in the House and Senate follow through on their promise to repeal Obamacare – not tweak it like RINOcare/Swampcare (take your pick) is attempting to do.
He made the comments at a rally in D.C. hosted by FreedomWorks, which was organized to oppose the so-called “American Health Care Act” proposed by Paul Ryan and the moderate wing of the Republican Party.
Cruz is quoted by The Blaze as saying:
“We must honor our promise and repeal Obamacare. For six years, Republicans have campaigned over and over and over again saying, ‘If only you’d give us the House, we’ll repeal Obamacare,’ ‘If you only give us the Senate, we’ll repeal Obamacare,’ ‘If only you give us the White House, we’ll repeal Obamacare.’ You know what? We’re out of excuses.”
Ted Cruz continues to defend conservative values in D.C., and shares the concerns of many American citizens frustrated with the political establishment’s sudden abandonment of their promise to completely repeal Obamacare. Here’s a novel idea – why can’t they pass the exact same bill they’ve passed for the last seven years while Obama was in office? They have the same votes they had then, and a supportive President and Vice President now. Coming out with a plan like this makes it seem like all that was just posturing, and they never truly supported repealing Obamacare. Anybody can take a stand when they know they are on the losing side, but if you suddenly reverse your position when you finally gain power, it brings into your integrity into question.
What do you think? Should Congress pass the AHCA/RINOcare, or should they repeal Obamacare completely, like they’ve been promising for the last seven years? Share this article on Facebook or Twitter with your opinion and tag @TheResurgent to let us know what you think.
