So?

Last week, the President seemingly ordered the U.S.S. Carl Vinson and other ships to head to North Korea. Newspapers across Asia expected the imminent arrival of the armada. But it turns out the ships were actually headed to Australia. They have now been redirected back to North Korea.

First of all, if you read the New York Times story, it is pretty clear this was a Pentagon screw up, not a White House screw up.

Second, does it even matter? It got press attention throughout Asia. The North Koreans undoubtedly believed an American armada was headed its way. Everyone else believed it too.

So I’m not sure why this is breaking news or news at all. If Barack Obama were President, the Times and much of the left would no doubt be praising his ability to bluff in a tense situation.
