Donald Trump said he would make Maryland competitive. He actually told Republican donors that he could win Maryland. The donors scoffed at the notion, but Trump apparently really believed it. He might have to rethink it. The Republican governor of the state, Larry Hogan, says he doesn’t plan to vote for Donald Trump in November.
Gov. Larry Hogan (R) said emphatically Wednesday that he does not plan to vote for Donald Trump, his party’s presumptive — and divisive — presidential nominee.
Although the first-term governor has repeatedly said he does not support Trump, he had never before stated whether he would vote for him in the general election.
Trump’s nomination is increasingly becoming untenable. Some have walked back their endorsements. Now we have a governor of a state Trump claimed as competitive saying he will not vote for Trump in November.
The GOP needs a new nominee.
