Bathroom Policy is KILLING Target’s Business

For months we’ve heard every talking head in the universe discuss the so called “crippling affect” of North Carolina’s bathroom bill. While the mainstream media really wants you to believe traditional Christian values  are bad for business, the facts show others. It turns out North Carolina is doing just fine while Target’s profits continue to tank in the wake of their transgender bathroom policy.

In April of last year Target published a blog post titled “Continuing to Stand for Inclusivity” in response to HB2.

Recent debate around proposed laws in several states has reignited a national conversation around inclusivity. So earlier this week, we reiterated with our team members where Target stands and how our beliefs are brought to life in how we serve our guests…In our stores, we demonstrate our commitment to an inclusive experience in many ways. Most relevant for the conversations currently underway, we welcome transgender team members and guests to use the restroom or fitting room facility that corresponds with their gender identity.

The policy has been a multi-million dollar disaster. From Yahoo News,

The boycott cost the company millions in lost sales and added expenses. Shopper traffic and same-store sales started sliding for the first time in years after the blog post, and the company was forced to spend $20 million installing single-occupancy bathrooms in all its stores to give critics of the policy more privacy.
Sales fell nearly 6% in the three quarters after the post compared with the same period last year, and same-store sales have dropped every quarter since the post.

You might think a train wreck of this magnitude would warrant a policy change, but Target has shown no sign of backing down. So while “journalists” and talking heads continue to wonder when Christians will give up on their values in the face of mythical economic woes, Target is diving headfirst off a cliff.

When will the mainstream media start asking why liberals won’t drop the “bathroom inclusivity” policies that are hurting business? When is ESPN going to torch Roger Goodell for meddling in state politics as NFL ratings drop? This type of media double standard is exactly the reason Donald Trump became the Teflon man in the 2016 election.

The liberal left wants Christians to abandon their values in the public sphere. According to their world view “faith” is supposed to be a private thing, and our beliefs and values have no business in public. But on the flip side, liberals are allowed to codify their values into corporate policy or ram them down our throats by judicial decree. The double standard is sickening.

Between the rise of Trump and the fall of Target, you’d think liberals would realize that the American people are tired of this nonsense. Democrats may think that Trump’s misfortunes will lead to their electoral success in 2018, but it’s beginning to look like liberals have some tough lessons to learn before they can gain more public support.
